PROJECT ABSTRACT 5-Biometric Fingerprint Based Access Control And Staff Attendance Management System

For companies where security is vital and access to certain areas must be controlled and monitored, there should be an  access control system that allow companies to manage and monitor all access points and locks, allowing for auditable security and quick responses to any security breaches.

When we consider about Security the distinct ways are Authentication, Authorization and Access Control.

Authentication is any process by which you verify that someone is who they claim they are. This can be of any method of demonstrating identity, such as a smart card, retina scan etc. Authentication is equivalent to showing your drivers license at the ticket counter at the airport.
Authorization is finding out if the person, once identified, is permitted to have the resource. This is usually determined by finding out if that person is a part of a particular group, if that person has paid admission, or has a particular level of security clearance. Authorization is equivalent to checking the guest list at an exclusive party, or checking for your ticket when you go to the opera.
Finally, access control is a much more general way of talking about controlling access to a resource. Access can be granted or denied based on the privillages granted to him. Access control is analogous to locking the gate at closing time, or only letting people onto the ride who are more than 48 inches tall - it's controlling entrance by some arbitrary condition which may or may not have anything to do with the attributes of the particular visitor.
Attendance management:
Here, in our project we have used an Biometric Finger Print Sensor, Keypad and a PIC Micro controller (PIC16F877) for authentication of a person.  A computer that is connected to the micro controller unit determines the authorization and Access control rights.
After The validation process is over, The user will be allowed to enter the premises and his entry date and time is marked into the database. Using Vb software we can generate reports like how many days the staffs are present and much more.
All user access information is gathered by a central PC-based workstation where the administrators can retrieve and analyze the information.

PROJECT ABSTRACT3- Bed Side Patient Monitoring System With Automatic SMS System using GSM Technology

Aim:
This project is used to scan the complete parameters of a person in an ICU ward.
Project Description:
Our project is a working model which incorporates sensors to measure all these parameters like Body temperature, Respiratory Temp, Saline Status ECG and Heart Beat rate and transfer it to the computer, so that the patient condition can be analyzed to by doctors in any part of the hospital wherever they are. Thus it reduces doctors work load and also gives more accurate results, wherever there is an abnormality felt by the patient, we have also incorporated saline monitoring system which gives an alarm when the saline bottle about to empty.
More over K-Sheet Automation is automatically done, since all the parameters are completely monitered thro a computer, it can be stored on a database for periodic intervals with respect to the current date and time.
A new system called medicine reminder system is also incorporated in this project.  An alarm will be energized,  Whenever a particular patient should be given  medicines.  This can be done for multiple patients also by assigning the intervals for the patient to a database.
An Emergency patient calling switch is also included here.  Whenever the patients finds emergency he needs to press the button on his side, so that the particular patients room number and will be indicated to the doctors room.

Modules:
            Sensors and Transducers
            Signal Conditioning Board
            PIC Microcontroller Interface Board

PROJECT ABSTRACT 3-EMBEDDED SYSTEM BASED GSM COMMUNICATION FOR AUTOMATIC IRRIGATION CONTROL SYSTEM

Abstract:
Agriculture is a source of livelihood of majority Indians and has great impact on the economy of the country. In dry areas or in case of inadequate rainfall, irrigation becomes difficult. So, it needs to be automated for proper yield and handled remotely for farmer safety. In this paper we suggest a Wireless sensor network and Embedded based technique to control water flow for sectored, sprinkler or drip section irrigation. This system will be very economical in terms of the hardware cost, power consumption and call charges.
In places such as agriculture lands, there is a continuous need for monitoring the water level at particular places. In places such as drip irrigation for coconuts and bananas, the water is let out through pipes directly to each field. A person has to carefully monitor the water level at regular intervals. His job becomes tedious during night times and for frequent power cuts. Sometimes there is wastage of water and electricity due to negligence and other times there is a hard job for the user. The project helps in automating this job.
This is highly helpful in places such as drip irrigation system where there are many flow pipes but does not require any change in the agricultural fields. Further there is a wireless communication device consisting of very high frequency transceiver. It helps to coordinate any action between the controlling authority and the fields. So each field can be placed as a separate wireless node and these field transceivers act as a high speed wireless network.
The project proposes a water level sensor at each place where the water has to be monitored. When the motor is switched on the sensors are activated and the fields are irrigated automatically. Once the water reaches a particular level which may even take hours, the system takes appropriate steps to regulate or even stop the water flow.
The farmers’ job gets over immediately after switching the power supply. The circuit also monitors the water in the well/bore well so that if the water level goes very low it switches off the main motor to prevent dry run and also to prevent damage to the motor.
The project houses a high speed microcontroller and water sensors at different fields and inside the well. These sensors are attached to the microcontroller and are controlled accordingly using motor and water control circuits.
The microcontroller used is a high Speed microcontroller for fault free operation. It has a variety of advantages over conventional old microcontrollers such as RISC architecture, larger memory word, fast operation and a host of inbuilt features such as ADC, communication protocols etc.,
The project also houses a GSM modem where the user can easily be notified by any fault in the system or if all fields are properly irrigated or if there is no sufficient water in the well. The same can be used to switch on the system and off by simply sending an SMS. This scheduling helps greatly because as agriculture power supplies are provided only at a particular time of day and not all hours. This is highly helpful in places if the user is out of his home for any purpose or his home is far away from his agricultural land which is a common scenario.
This helps in precious saving of water and electricity and eases the job of the person. The project can be used in large agricultural lands, coconut plantations and many other plantations and even in home environment or industries and colleges where there are large gardens to monitor and
