FINAL YEAR PROJECT ABSTRACT 22 23-Intelligent Security Systems for industrial surveillance with GSM and Auto Dialer

Intelligent Security Systems for industrial surveillance with GSM and Auto Dialer

Helping the world's businesses keep their buildings, employees and customers safe and secure is a fast growing multibillion-dollar industry. Topping the list of building and property owners' security concerns are employee theft, property crime, information security and burglary.

To protect against these and other threats, and increase their business value at the same time, companies worldwide will spend more money on surveillance systems in their industries.

A single security system control environment also reduces complexity, which in and of itself increases security overall. For example, the key security systems in use today are intrusion detection, access control and video surveillance. If each of these systems are purchased and administered separately, training and administration can be a burden to a company or building/property owner. This is because intrusion alarms occur on one system, access badges are administered in a stand-alone database and intelligent digital video technology runs on dedicated computer equipment. Each system requires its own oversight, service, maintenance, administration and training.

Instead all these systems can be integrated into a single unit to avoid all the above said burdens.

Proposed Idea:

In our project we have built a single security system control which has the following sensors. It also includes transfer of information to the user or owner through GSM Technology.

Glass break Sensor

Glass break sensors detect any breakage and instantly send an alarm if intruders try to enter your building through a window.

Magnetic Door Contact

Magnetic contacts sense when doors are open.

Seismic Vibration Detector

If anyone tries to break into a vault, a seismic vibration detector will sense it. Advanced circuitry enables a seismic vibration detector to differentiate between real attacks and vibrations caused by service access or normal operation. ATM machines are a bank’s most public asset, and they’re more prone to vandalism or theft attempts than other equipment. If anyone tampers with an ATM or tries to remove it, a seismic vibration detector will sense it.
Intruder Detection with photo sensors:
With the help of the photo Sensor we can easily identify whether any person has gone into the restricted area and with the help of the Web camera we can able to tap the particular video on to the computer.

Flame:
In the night times after sensing the sensor outputs we can dial a telephone number. Eg. To indicate a robbery in a bank. Type your question here and then click Search.

The Industrial and control area will be different. So a human vigilance cannot be possible is this circumstances, essentially we must go for auto flame detection system to overcome the above problem and to inform the control room about the status of the flame. Here we use powerful and sensitive "LDR" (Light Dependent Resistor) for the flame detection.  Normally LDR senses all the lights.  But in our case we have to sense only Blue and Yellow flame and reject sunlight and other luminaries.

We have provided necessary circuit to reject ambient and luminaries lightings and senses only desired flame coloring. We are using simple and effective potential divider to find out flame

Temperature detection:

Thermistor is used to identify the room  temperatures, and alerts the user upon high temperature.
Fire and Life Safety
Fire detection is a baseline safety necessity, but too many banks are still relying on outdated equipment that lacks the effectiveness and reliability a bank needs. We can use a product that project infrared beams to detect smoke, or use sophisticated electronic heat sensors. It also includes programmable detection systems that perform continuous monitoring cycles through your building
Smoke Detector
Well-placed smoke detectors can sense a fire long before it endangers people property

Video Surveillance
Video surveillance products Will give is the flexibility to create a security system that fits our needs perfectly.  To Demonstrate, here We have used a Web Camera Connected to a computers USB Port.
We can use this cameras to detect motion, trigger alarms and switch to recording modes during emergencies. The recorded images can be stored  internal hard drives for later processing.

FINAL YEAR PROJECT ABSTRACT 22-SMS Based Device or Home equipment Control system

SMS Based Device or Home equipment Control system
What is GSM ?
GSM, which stands for Global System for Mobile Communications, is a digital cellular radio network operating in over 200 countries world-wide. It provides almost complete coverage in western Europe, and growing coverage in the Americas, Asia and elsewhere.

Of special interest is the capability of the GSM network to be used for data computing. Most people think of voice calls when they think of cellular phones. But because GSM is digital, you can connect your GSM-enabled phone to your laptop computer and send or receive e-mail, faxes, browse the Internet, securely access your company's LAN/intranet, and use other digital data features including Short Messaging Service.
The unique roaming features of GSM allow cellular subscribers to use their services in any GSM service area in the world in which their provider has a roaming agreement. That means the phone you use in France could work in Germany, Australia, Finland and even China, depending on your provider's roaming agreements.
GSM-enabled phones have a "smart card" inside called the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM). The SIM card is personalized to you and you alone. It identifies your account to the network and provides authentication, which allows appropriate billing.
Aim of project
Imagine being able to control all the electrical appliances of your home from virtually any place your are in the world! For example, say one cold winter day, you are stuck in traffic on the motorway after a long day at work. By pressing a few keystrokes on your mobile phone, you activate a macro which turns on the heating, prepares your Jacuzzi, switches on your electrical fireplace and lava-lamps at your premises.

In today's times the GSM mobile terminal has become one of the items that is constantly with us. Just like our wallet/purse, keys or watch, the GSM mobile terminal provides us with a communication channel that enables us to communicate with the world. The want for a person to be reachable or to call anyone at any time is very appealing.
Using the cybernetic concept of action space, we in fact extend the action space of the human with the mobile terminal, enabling the subscriber to talk to another subscriber and thus exchange information, issue or receive commands.
In this project, we will explore ways of extending this notion of Home Automation by applying mobility to it using various technologies that are available in our information age. These technologies include mobile communication devices and the Internet which are becoming part of our everyday lives.

Working of the project:
The user can send a SMS Message to activate a device which is connected to the project. For eg a Tube light or fan any electrical device.
Hardware Spec:
            8051/DsPIC 30F4013 Microcontroller
            GSM Modem (SIM 300 Module)

FINAL YEAR PROJECT ABSTRACT 20-Fuzzy Logic Based Automated Environmental Friendly Vehicle System

Fuzzy Logic Based Automated Environmental Friendly Vehicle System

This project automates the Emission  vehicles for Pollution.  At present in the Emission test centre to test a vehicle, first the details are collected and the vehicle is tested with the testing equipment and the percentage of CO and other gases are noted and the certificate is given manually.  This  system has many loop holes ie.,
The certificate can be given with out the Vehicles presence.  It won’t detect a stable value before taking print through which we can give printout at a desired value when the Gas Values increases.

By automating the Emission test the above mentioned problems can be eliminated.  The system automatically checks for the polluting gases and if the level is not within the limits then it automatically trips the ignition control and puts  off the engine to stop the vehicle.

Along with this we have also included sensors to incorporate various functions.  We have the following sensors
1.      Pollution Sensor
2.      Direction Sensor
3.      Temperature Sensor
4.      Humidity Sensor

FINAL YEAR PROJECT ABSTRACT 19-Accident Alarm indicator for Automobiles with Eyeblink Sensor

Accident Alarm indicator for Automobiles with Eyeblink Sensor
Aim:
To Prevent Accidents for vehicles using an intelligent device.
Need:
It is necessary to have an intelligent system which identifies the accident before it happens and informs or signals a driver to be alert.

Method:

This can be implemented by connecting Ultrasonic Sensors in front of the vehicles.  The Ultrasonic sensors will give the distance between the present vehicle and the vehicle which is coming in the opposite direction.  The distance is constantly monitored by a microcontroller and when the distance is close, it signals the driver to stop the vehicle or it can be programmed to  stop the vehicle if the vehicle is fully automated
Further more we can use an Eye blink Sensor which can be fixed to the drivers Head, to monitor the eye blink rate of the driver, So that when the eye blink rate falls below certain level, we can alert the driver.

This also has a provision for switching on a relay to support the automatic applying of brakes .       Since the sensor Action is similar for all the four sides, For project Demonstration we have implemented a small model  with a single sensor fixed in it.  The same operation is Done for all the four sides.
